Hippy Happy Hoppy Day

It comes every year. It passes by every year. It is just like any other day but it is a very special day because you are the centre of attraction on this day and you are spoiled. During your school days, on this day all the girls in your class become your friend. As years progress, and you meet more people and make more friends, on this day every year you get loads of cards, presents, phone calls, text messages, facebook messages. Your near and dear ones plan a surprise party and they utter prayers and good wishes for you. So there are so many good things about this special day but the only not so good thing about this day is that this day spoils your AGE. On this day every year you turn a year older. Not that I am disappointed or afraid of growing old but its just scary to note how time flies and yet there are sooooooooo many things to experience and achieve in life. Despite this and all the ups and downs of life, I absolutely love my life and I love everyone in my life.

Today is my nth birthday. Time has flown by so quickly. But that is life . Time has a very strange way of passing you by. Seconds turn into minutes, minutes turn into hours, hours turn into days, days turn into years, years turn into decades. Yet in hindsight it would seem like everything flew by. And amidst this flight of time, we achieve so many things, we experience so many things and we pass some small, some huge milestones. My blog has passed a huge milestone today. Yay to the 100Th post!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. May I take this opportunity to humbly THANK YOU all for stopping by my page awhile, reading my posts and leaving your valuable comments. Your kind words are forever appreciated and your company is cherished as priceless.

Fultu Bakwaas...Bolo Mere Akha

Bolo Mere Akha...Kya Chahiye?
...

Earlier today I decided to clean the lamp in my drawing room of its previous fragrance and restore it with a new fragrance that I purchased other day. As I was cleaning the lamp, I began to wonder, what my three wishes would be if the Genie appeared:

1) I would wish for Genie to do my office work so that I could blog more regularly from the office.

2) I would wish for Genie to give Bollywood directors some original ideas to make good movies that I can watch on Friday evenings.

3) I would wish for thousand wishes. (Teen se mera kya hoga?)

Alas, the Genie did not appear :( . Looks like I rubbed him the wrong way or perhaps the economic recession has hit Genie too and that has put the Genie out of the business of ''appearing and granting wishes'' !

Ayeee..Pakadooo....Pakadooo....Pakad Liyaaa!........I'm It !! You're It !!!.........

Well, I’m it! I have been tagged by Sunil Goswami of I Blog, Therefore I Am! The basic rules of Sunil’s tag is that I have to answer honestly the following whacky questions that he has come up with. Here we go…

1.      1) If you could go back in time to relive one moment, what would it be?

How I wish I could go back in time to relive that special ‘Dil Tho Pagal Hai Moment’ of my life !!! Wondering what that means? Let me explain -  in the movie Dil Tho Pagal Hai, Shahrukh asks Madhuri , ''Mujhe Kaise Maaloom Padega Ki Mere Liye Kaun Banaaya Gaya Hai?’’. In reply Madhuri  points to the heaven above and says, ''Woh Mujhe Ek Ishaara Dikhaayega Aur Mera Dil Samajh Jaayega’’. Too filmy and too good to be true in real life, no? But this happened with me.  'Uparwaala' sent me a sign and that is exactly how I first bumped into my 'someone somewhere’. Any day I would like to relive that special mera 'Dil tho pagal hai moment.'

2.      2) If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?

Oh, I certainly would like to go back in time to erase that particular instance when I lost a close friend (girl) for having shared in confidence (???) one of her ‘girly’ secrets with another boy in my class. How naive I was to not know that boys CANNOT keep secrets about girls from other boys.

3.      3) What movie or TV character you think you resemble most in personality?

I can’t think of any TV/movie character that comes even remotely close to my personality but the character I can most identify with is Simran (played by Kajol) from DDLJ.

Both Simran and I belong to a very conservative family and both of us are constantly reminded by our dads to strictly adhere to Indian values. Both Simran and I are obedient daughters and respect our Dad’s principles and will try our best (even if that means giving up on our dreams) to not to hurt our dads’ feelings.  Both Simran and I share a great relationship with our mother and see them more like our best friend. Like Simran, I used to initially approach Amma for permission to go on school trips/excursions. Amma would advise me to speak to Dad and I always had to plead my Dad several times to get him to grant me permission.

The biggest similarity between me and Simran is that both of us believed in our ‘undekha unjaana’ Prince charming and waited for him to walk into our respective lives and sweep us off our feet completely; but..but...I did not go on a month long Eurotrip, and Simran did!

4.      4) What movie or TV character would you really like to be like?

I would love to be like the spirited Maria (played by Julie Andrews) in the movie The Sound of Music. I have always admired Maria for her carefree attitude, ability to spread joy and unconditional love like a child yet possessing a shoulder that balances a mature head.

In my later life, I would love to be like Pooja Malhotra ( played by Hema Malini) of Baghbaan. In my view, she symbolised a Perfect Indian Woman in that role.

5.      5) If you could push one person in the whole world off a cliff and get away with it, who would it be?

To do this, I have to get on top of the cliff myself, don’t I? Sorry, I may not make it to the top of the cliff in the first place, let aone pushing another person.

6.       6) Name one habit you want to change in yourself.

Currenty, I am more childish and less responsible. I want to become more responsible and less childish.

7.      7) Describe yourself in one word.

Indescribable.

8.      8) Describe the person who named you in this meme in one word.

Gentleman.

9.      9) Why do you blog? Answer in one sentence.

I blog to share my Dil Ki Baat.

10.   10) Name at least 3 people to send this meme to then inform them.

1)     All those who read my blog
2)  All those who follow my blog.
3)    All those who comment on my blog

If you’ve just read this post , you’ve been tagged!! YOU'RE IT !!!!!!!!!!!! Pakad Liya...........

11) Link back to the person who tagged you in this meme.

Thank You very much Sunil for the tag. I enjoyed taking part in it.

Teh Dil Se Shukriya

Two of my Blogdosts namely THE SILHOUETTE and ANULAL gave me the STYLISH BLOGGER AWARD. Thank you sooooo much dosts.

I understand, there are few duties to perform after receiving the award:

1) Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award

Once again, Thank you sooooo much The Silhouette and Anu. I really appreciate it.

2) Share 7 things about yourself

- I love to talk a lot. More often than not, this attribute has benefited me in winning new friends readily and retaining my old friends. But on few occasions this attribute has got me into trouble too especially when I could not keep quiet in the lecture halls during my college days.

- I am a good listener. I do not mind the title of ‘agony aunt’ given to me by friends and colleagues. It helps me understand my near and dear ones better. Sometimes ( mind you, inadvertently though) I overhear others’ conversations too !

- I can never narrate a movie story in a nutshell. If I have to narrate a movie story or a soap episode or any events from personal experience to someone, it almost takes me as long as the entire duration of the movie or the serial or the incident itself.

- I am ever smiling but I shed buckets of tears when someone I know bids farewell and vice versa. I also cry when I watch Senti movies.

- I like to laugh a lot and can laugh heartily at some of the Santha Bantha jokes, Haathi Cheenti jokes and Rajanikanth Jokes. But I do not laugh at jokes that Archana Puran Singh finds funny.

- I love to dress in Ethnic Indian clothes. Soch , Rangmanch, Westside (ethnic) and FabIndia are my favourites. I like wearing ethnic jewelleries too.

- I have a very positive outlook for life. I like to put on a brave face and move on even when things go wrong hoping that future will look brighter.

3) Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers and inform them of the award

Now this is where I would like to slightly modify the rules of the award. I am not going to pick just few great bloggers because I believe all my blogdosts are great bloggers in their own different ways. I thoroughly enjoy reading their blogs. Each one of my blogdosts, show their personalities through their blogs and it is as nice to read their blog posts as much as to know them. All my blogdosts are hugely talented and it has been great to know them through their blogs. They play a special role in my life. MANY MANY THANKS to all my blogdosts for making my little world so wonderful.

On that note, I would also like to extend my HEARTFELT THANKS to some of you blogdosts who do not blog but read our blogs and leave your valuable comments. I would like to say, your comments inspire us bloggers to bring out better posts.

Continuing the list of THANK YOUs, I would like to say A VERY BIG THANK YOU to Dr PRATIBHA for mentioning me at BLOGJUNTA. Much Appreciated! Pratibha is a very talented blogger who blogs here at PRATIBHA THE TALENT.

To conclude this post I am sending a warm hug to all of you who read my posts, all of you who read my posts and leave your comments, all of you whose posts I enjoy reading.

Aa Chalkey Tujhey....

 ......Main lekey chaloon
Ek aisey gagan ke thaley
Jaha Gham bhi na ho
Aansoo bhi na ho
Bas pyaar hi pyaar paley
ek aisey gagan ke thaley...
...

I was just humming this beautiful song by Kishore Kumar and was lost in my memories associated with this song. Let me share this memory with you today.

When I was a little girl, every night while my parents tucked me into bed, Papa would narrate a bed time story.  Papa’s stories normally began something like this – '' once upon a time there was a happy place and there lived a little girl.... a sparrow...a rabbit..…etc etc. Basically, all of Papa’s stories were based in this ''happy place''. When I used to ask Papa where was this happy place located, Papa would say that if I close my eyes and take a deep breath, I would be able to see that happy place. I followed this advice and every time, Papa narrated me a story, I would close my eyes, take a deep breath and try to find the happy place and the little girl, the bird or whoever the character of the story was. It worked, I could actually see the characters of the story and also fall asleep peacefully.

As I grew a bit older and I was beyond the age of  listening to bedtime stories ( mind you, I would still love to listen to Papa's bedtime stories..Papa is simply good at narrating stories...Oh the happy childhood days!) , Amma and Papa used to play some soft melodies of the 60s and 70s era during bedtime. Whenever the tape recorder, played Aa chalkey tujhe song I would close my eyes, take a deep breath and think of  Papa's bed time stories and also I used to see all the good things around me and develop a calm and peaceful feeling.

Happiness lies within us. If we don’t see them, they become invisible. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and go to that happy place within you. That Happy place belongs to you, it is with you in whatever you do and you can take it with you wherever you go. As you go to that happy place within you, don’t you hear a voice there that asks you to believe in yourself?  Don't you hear the voice that asks you to remain hopeful and positive? Don’t you hear the voice that asks you to share love and respect? Does that happy place not bring a smile on your face?

As, I write this post, I am feeling a deep sense of happiness. I want to take this opportunity to THANK all you lovely Blogdosts who read my blog and who leave comments on my posts, my THANKS are also due to all you lovely visitors who read my blog and don’t leave comments but do come back to my blog another time.  All of you mean a lot to me and  and it is you who inspire me to carry on producing blogposts. I want you all to know that I love you all and want you to be happy always. I hope that we will continue our friendship in the new year too.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU. I hope your Santa brings you loads of happiness.

Here’s wishing  all you lovely bloggers and readers  in the Blogosphere a VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. I hope all your dreams come true just like how you wish them to be or even BETTER. Hope all of us are surrounded by good health, fortune and HAPPINESS always.

I will be back with new posts on other side of this decade.

Lots of Love and Best Wishes
Always Happy

When your work keeps you busy....

.......You bloody can not blog!!!
 ...

Excuse me for the language, but thats how raged and guilty I feel at the moment for blogging less frequently over the past two weeks.

Yes, this post is bit of a rant, confession and excuse. Lately, work has been quite busy. I havent really had much time  in my hand to blog or keep up with my bogdosts' blogs.

By the end of this week, things will calm down on the work front and may be I can get back to blogging, something I absolutley love to do. Till then, I will miss my blog and my blogdosts' blog.

How to get noticed in the blogosphere?

To be frank, I am not sure I can give tips on how to get noticed in the blogosphere because, firstly, I am not a notable blogger and secondly, if I knew how to get noticed in the blogosphere, then you would not find this post on my blog but on other websites. Therefore, I will keep this post as short as possible.

I am yet to find my niche in the blogosphere. Still suffering from what is called the Writer’s Block. Couple of times, I wrote posts about current political issues because,  generally, socio political bloggers get more attention.  But when I read the final write up, I myself did not like it. How was anyone else going to like it? So there it was, in my dashboard, no one read it, except me :(

Then I wrote a post poking fun at celebrities. It was great in every respect but not in getting across the humour that it was intended to convey. Again, that post did not make it to my public page.

I grew up reading Tinkle and Archies. I thought I could write one of those 'suppandi' jokes each day. I remember those jokes vividly ..afterall, I narrate them everytime I hang out with my friends. Perhaps, it is time now to share those jokes in the blogosphere. Good stuff! but the downside is I need  to have artistic skills to draw 'suppandi' and his 'master'. I quit drawing since the day I attempted to draw an elephant and my team players could not guess it in the pictionary game and we lost.

I am a movie buff and watch hell lot of bollywood movies so I thought may be I should write about movie reviews. But hey, only one who watches a movie can write a review on that movie, right? In the last few months, I have watched so many bollywood movies but all of them only for first few minutes. Not because, I didnt have time to watch the complete movie but the movies were so damn boring that I could not watch them any longer than the initial fifteen minutes......I just could not. Kites, Raavan, Action Play to name a few.

Many of my posts are simply about something that is currently happening in my life or something that happened in the past. Why would someone be interested in knowing about a someone somewhere who writes about something and who knows a little about the loooooooot of things happening in the Indian politics, bollywood, Big Boss 4 etc?
Oh......just realised, I had begun this post to share  tips on how to get noticed in the blogosphere. Sorry for moving out of scope. So, coming back to tips, I have come to the conclusion that you become a noticed blogger by writing for yourself and using your own original ideas.

Keep up the good work, blogbuddies. That is the best tip I have for you and ME at the moment.

Am I addicted to blogging?

Am I addicted to blogging?

Has my TV hour become blog hour these days?

NO , I don’t miss my favourite TV programmes Sasuraal Genda phool or X factor in order to blog.

Do I Mental blog all the time these days?

NO, I don’t think about blogging when I am driving, cooking, walking, reading, watching TV and  people watching?

Do I regularly log in to e blogger even when I am busy at work?

NO, I have my blogger page and RSS feed always open on my desktop.

Do my friends and family complain that of late I don’t give them enough time

NO, They are fine if I say I want to spend some time in front of the PC.

Do I lose track of time when I am in front of computer?

NO, because I am sitting in front of a PC, I put it to blog related use and not the other way round.

Do I write posts during working hours?

NO, during work hours, I only jot down things that are of interest of me.

Do I see everything that goes on around me as  a potential blog post?

NO, I can see two squirrels fighting for a nut on the tree outside my window without thinking that it is blog worthy. I can watch an interesting documentary on TV without thinking that it is blog worthy, I can recollect the fond memories of my childhood without thinking that it is blog worthy. I read other blogs and do not get tempted to write on a similar topic.

Do I feel anxious when I have not written a post for four days  or when I have not replied to my comments or if I have not commented on my favourite bloggers’ blog for four days?

NO, I take it easy and don't think about blogging until I am actually writing a post.

Are all the above answers true ? -  NO
